Leonard Aplet

CFA, Head of Short Duration and Stable Value Strategies

Leonard Aplet is a managing director and head of short duration fixed-income for Columbia Management Investment Advisers, LLC (CMIA). He is also a portfolio manager on a number of the firm’s mutual funds and separate accounts, sets portfolio strategy for short-duration products, and manages stable value portfolios. Mr. Aplet’s background with the firm has included quantitative analysis and managing mortgage- and asset-backed securities. Mr. Aplet joined the firm in 1987 and has been a member of the investment community since 1976. Prior to joining the firm, he spent nine years in real estate loan origination and portfolio management. Mr. Aplet earned a B.S. from Oregon State University and an M.B.A. in finance from the University of California at Berkeley. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the Portland Society of Financial Analysts.
