Nic Pifer, CFA, Sector Leader

Nic Pifer is sector leader for global fixed-income at Columbia Management Investment Advisers, LLC. In this role, he is responsible for the firm’s global fixed-income, emerging market debt and currency alpha products. Mr. Pifer joined Columbia Management Investment Advisers in 2000 and has been a member of the investment community since 1990.
Prior to joining Columbia Management Investment Advisers, Mr. Pifer was a fixed-income portfolio manager responsible for international and global fixed-income portfolios at Investment Advisers, Inc. (IAI). Mr. Pifer began his career with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, holding positions including international economist, foreign exchange trader/analyst and the markets officer responsible for managing the Bank’s foreign exchange staff.
Mr. Pifer earned a B.A. from Wesleyan University and an M.A. from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). He is a member of the CFA Society of Minnesota. In addition, he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
